	NEWS FOR SCHOOL PARENTS The FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL is Monday, August 25th for 1st through 8th grade students. All students should line up in the playground by 8:30 a.m. when the doors will open for the 2008-2009 school year. Classes will be dismissed at 11:40 a.m. that day. Kindergarten and preschool families are invited to the opening day chapel service which begins at 9:00 a.m. Immediately following the chapel service, parent(s) and child will go to their respective classrooms to get acquainted with the layout of the room and learn the rules and behavior expectations of their grade. The Parent Teacher League will sponsor the ANNUAL "TEA AND TISSUE" in the Fellowship Room at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, August 25th. All parents, new and old, to St. John's are invited to get to know one another at the "Tea and Tissue". EXTENDED CARE will begin on Tuesday, August 26th. Extended Care is offered for students of St. John's from 6:45 to 8:30 a.m. and from 3:15 to 6:00 p.m. Drop off and pick up takes place on Lavergne Street - the door closest to the playground. REGISTER NOW! - - - - - - - - - - - - - Applications are currently being accepted for all grades, 3 year old preschool through 8th grade. Stop in to drop off an application Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., or drop your application in the mail. Your child(ren) belong at St. John's! Call the office and ask about our new 20% discount if you are an active member of a christian congregation. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ RALLY DAY St. John's will celebrate Rally Day by holding the 8:00 and 11:00 a.m. worship services outdoors. Between services children's activites will take place in addition to the outdoor Fellowship Hour.
